In prohibition-era Chicago, the corrupt sheriff and Man Gisborne, a south-side racketeer, knock off the boss Large Jim. Everybody falls in line behind Man besides Robbo, who controls the north facet. Though he is out-gunned, Robbo desires to maintain his personal territory. A pool-playing dude from Indiana and the director of a boys’ orphanage be part of forces with Robbo; and, when he offers some cash to the orphanage, he turns into the toast of the city as a hood like Robin Hood. In the meantime, Man schemes to do away with Robbo, and Large Jim’s heretofore unknown daughter Marian seems and goes from man to man looking for an ally in her quest to run the entire present. Can Robbo maintain issues collectively?
